Eastern Northland
Encompassing the ecological districts of Eastern Northland and Islands, and Taranga. It is characterised by a warm subtropical climate and is home to diverse ecosystems, including coastal forests, harbours, estuaries, and dune systems. The region is a stronghold for species, like the brown teal (pateke) and Hochstetter's frogs.
