A compact, tufted grass forming a neat clump of bright green, radiating foliage, topped with distinctive silver flower heads. Its fine texture and vivid colour make it a striking accent plant, particularly where close viewing is possible. Well suited to planting beside ponds and streams, around outdoor living areas, mass planted on banks, or grown in containers. Naturally associated with damp sites and dune margins, it prefers moist conditions and can spread slowly by short creeping growth, creating soft, luminous patches in the landscape.
