Edgar’s rush
Juncus edgariae | wiwi, Edgar’s rush
A common and hardy native rush found throughout New Zealand in swampy areas, wetland margins, and seasonally damp sites. It grows in tight, compact clumps of bright green, stem-like foliage and is widely used for wetland and riparian revegetation. Evergreen and low maintenance, it prefers full sun and tolerates short dry periods, making it reliable across a range of conditions from coastal to montane environments.
