    A hardy perennial wetland reed forming dense stands of upright blue-green stems from creeping rhizomes. Flowering occurs as fine, arching to drooping panicles of spikelets held on slender branches.Thriving in swamps and along water margins, it remains upright and green year-round. Well suited to water treatment ponds, wetlands, and saturated zones, it pairs well with other wetland rushes and sedges.
