Pukenamu

Pukenamu, Queen’s Park sits atop a remnant sand dune. Despite historical modification through excavation and filling, the dune’s form still defines the Reserve’s topography. Originally part of a ridge linking to the native forests of St John’s Hill, the site once supported indigenous dune species that shaped its ecological character.
