mānuka
Leptospermum scoparium var. scoparium | mānuka, kahikātoa
A fast-growing tree or shrub that bursts into masses of white flowers during spring and summer. Its small, dark green leaves release a pleasant scent, especially in warm weather. This evergreen typically reaches 3m in height and 2m in width, thriving in full sun and well-drained soil. Commonly used as a nurse plant in revegetation and riparian projects, mānuka also offers excellent shelter in home gardens, and its delicate foliage and abundant flowers make it a beautiful addition to mixed plantings.
