A fast-growing native tree with a distinctive tropical look, thanks to its large, lime-green leaves with jagged edges. A relatively short-lived tree, but its rapid growth makes it a quick way to add a lush feel to your garden.  Whau thrives in sunny spots and is best suited to warmer areas, as it doesn't tolerate cold, wind, or overly dry or wet soil. Its white flowers and unique round, spiky brown/green fruit add to its visual appeal.
