This spreading shrub makes an excellent groundcover, especially for sunny, well-drained clay soils or rock gardens. Its fuzzy twigs, clothed in tiny rusty brown hairs, beautifully contrast with its attractive, dark green, wrinkled, leathery oval leaves, which feature small toothed edges. Growing flatter in exposed sites this plant provides year-round interest. In spring, it's adorned with charming clusters of small, creamy-mustard flowers. Its distinctive blue-grey foliage is a lovely addition to any garden, and the shrub is also great for erosion control. You'll commonly find it thriving on rocky surfaces and cliff faces.
