A tall and attractive tree with a stout, straight trunk and a broad crown of glossy, leathery dark green leaves. It produces small green flowers in spring, followed by small green fruits that ripen to red. Well-suited for large native plantings and revegetation projects, it also makes an attractive specimen tree with its tidy form and dark green foliage, and its berries are a favorite food for native birds.
